Welcome to Corven Hall

Nestled in Llandrindod Wells, Corven Hall has a rich history dating back to its origins as a Georgian Rectory, initially known simply as ‘the rectory’ and later as ‘the old rectory’. This building was substantially enlarged in Victorian times. While the early history relating to its development by the church is not particularly well documented, the most notable aspect of Corven Hall’s past is its association with the Reverend Thomas Macfarlane.  An image from around 1874 captures Reverend Macfarlane with his family outside the front of Corven Hall.

Although its documented history as a rectory is limited, Corven Hall and its substantial converted Coach house later served as a 10-bedroom hotel in the late 1900s. However, following years of neglect since 2000, Corven Hall and its 3 acres of formal gardens and grazing grounds, has now come under new ownership and is embarking on an exciting journey of renovation to become a substantial country home.

We are passionate about renovating period properties, bringing over 25 years of experience to this project. We are dedicated to learning and reclaiming materials to create beautiful period properties, drawing inspiration from Georgian, Edwardian, and Victorian periods, while also subtly weaving in influences from nouveau and deco styles, as well as European design. The aim is to create true renovations that are sympathetic to the building’s history, while blending different styles in harmonious ways.

The ongoing restoration work is evident in the Drawing Room, which has been aesthetically lifted with an homage to the previous ecclesiastical roots of the Hall. This includes the embellishment of recesses with side panels depicting Saint John the Evangelist and Saint James Minor, and a central panel over the fire surround depicting The Annunciation with Saint Francis and Saint Louis of Toulouse. The window and door in this room have been treated with the same colour and gilding, creating a cohesive aesthetic.

We invite you to follow our journey as we lovingly restore Corven Hall, preserving its historical character while creating a beautiful and welcoming country home.
